Commonly Asked Questions

Your Questions Answered

How do I book a Shoot or Wedding?

The best way to contact me is via my contact form or email with your enquiry. Ideally include a wedding date so I can check the diary.

When is the best time to take newborn photos?

Ideally as soon as baby is born. If thinking about booking a shoot, let me know so i can check the diary. You want to aim within the first 14 days from birth if you want those squidgy sleepy shots, but you can still achieve beautiful baby shots after that time frame.

If I am interested in maternity photos, when is the best time to take them?

I would suggest from 32 weeks when your bump is showing.

How do I pay?

I take a £25 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking. The rest of the payment to be made on the day of the shoot. My preferred method of payment is a transfer.

How do I receive my images?

Your images are sent via an online gallery with a password where you can download all of your images. Galleries are hosted for 1 month after you receive your images. If you forget to download them, don't panic, I keep backups.

What happens if its raining and I have booked a location shoot?

If the weather is awful, I will reschedule and offer a new date. No need for a new deposit.

When do you work?

I mainly do my shoots at weekends. If you can only do a week day, I will look at half term dates and try and arrange something from there.

Are there any hidden costs?

No, I make sure you know what the exact costs will be. My shoot prices are for my time and the images are included in the price. If a shoot does not go as expected such as a screaming baby that cannot be settled or an unhappy toddler then i will offer a reshoot at no extra cost.

What happens if i am ill on the day of the shoot?

Deposits are all non-refundable. This is due to my travel costs or booking a venue in advance for the shoot. I will of course try and assist you as best i can to rearrange a new date for the shoot. Please do not come to a shoot if you or any members are showing signs of covid 19.

What happens if you are ill?

In the unlikely event i will have to cancel a shoot, you will be offered a new shoot date or a full refund of your deposit.
If in the very unlikely event i am ill and can't make your wedding. I will always offer a professional photographer replacement representing E.Collins Photography first or offer a full refund.
Please be understanding if a cancellation is to happen.

How long until I receive my images?

While I try to make every attempt to get images back asap, please allow up to 2 weeks for photo shoots and 6 weeks for weddings.

Do you offer Passport Photos?

We no longer do passport photos. Check out your nearest Tescos or Timpsons.
